Regarding the Kiryas Joel Pipeline:

Dear NYC Council Speaker and Environmental Protection Committee,

I live in Southern Orange County. The nearby Village of Kiryas Joel has filed papers with the NYC Department of Environmental Protection for permission to tap into New York City's aqueduct by running a 13 mile water pipeline. The final environmental impact study presented by the applicant is inadequate, flawed and misleading.

Also, the Orange County Legislators voted 20 to 1 against this proposal as it is in direct conflict with the Orange County master plan. Our County legislators and representatives of the Southern Orange County Alliance (SOCA) will be contacting your office. Please give us the opportunity to present you with the facts and issues concerning this matter. NYC's water supply is critical and every proposed tap needs to be very closely scrutinized.

Sincerely,
Your Name
